I am a specialist consultant within the second charge mortgages desk and my role involves working with both intermediaries and clients, dealing with new enquiries and managing the cases through to completion. I am currently working towards obtaining my CeMAP qualification which I have been fortunate enough to do in our in house academy. The best part about working at Brightstar is how the team pulls together to continually improve, not only from a target point of view but to regularly exceed expectations of our intermediaries and their clients which makes for a very positive and fulfilling day at work.
second charge mortgages Specialist
I started working with Brightstar in September 2012 as an administrator but have progressed to assist the second charge mortgages specialists underwriting their cases and contributing to the organisation of the team allowing us to meet company targets and customer expectations. I am in the process of training to become CeMAP qualified and have taken part in various other training programmes. I particularly like the way the leadership team at Brightstar always look to progress individuals with real support with a view to helping you achieve both your personal and work targets. Brightstar is a company where achievements are regularly made and recognised and that makes me feel proud to be a part of the team.
Sales Support – second charge mortgages
I have recently joined Brightstar as a board director heading up the mortgages & btl team. My role involves managing a team of specialists who provide a business to business service to our introducing intermediaries. This is a truly specialist sector where we arrange mortgages for people that don't fit the high street mould via a range of innovative products including price for risk. Brightstar have a brilliant team atmosphere and there is a common shared objective in being the best in our sector. The best things about working with Brightstar is working with colleagues who have a can do attitude and a drive for success.
Director – Mortgages & BTL
I was originally brought in as a commercial finance specialist managing intermediary and clients cases but was promoted to head of commercial finance and then progressed to become a board director in June 2014. My role is to both write new business and to also manage our team of commercial finance specialists. As a director I sit on the Brightstar board and have an input into the overall management of the company. I love the atmosphere within the office. It sounds like an oxymoron, but it is both relaxed and performance driven at the same time. It is a difficult ethos to explain but it reminds me of my experiences within a rugby team; A diverse bunch of people that come together and are greater than the sum of their parts. In personality terms we have the equivalent of props, second rowers, wingers etc etc but everyone is looking to do their best for themselves, their team and ultimately the client.
Director of Bridging & Development Finance
I started working for Brightstar as an administrator but have now progressed to managing our introducing intermediary and client cases from enquiry right through to completion. I really enjoy my new role and thrive on deploying the problem solving skills it requires. To make peoples dreams become a reality provides me with real job satisfaction. I have never worked with such an amazing team of people where the buzz and support from my colleagues both emotionally and in a professional capacity is something I've never experienced before. We work really hard at Brightstar but we have a good social calendar outside of work meaning we play hard too!
