BRIGHTSTAR NAMED TOP COMPANY TO WORK FOR IN THE EAST OF ENGLAND

March 2019

Brightstar Financial has been named as the Best Company to Work For in the East of England in all categories, including large companies, medium companies, small companies, Not for Profit organisations and Housing Associations.

The Billericay-based specialist mortgage distributor, which was recently named as the Best Small Company to Work For in The Sunday Times, added to this accolade by scooping the overall top spot in the regional awards.

Judged against all entrants from the East of England, including a number of household names, Brightstar scored 844 points out of a possible 1000 in the rigorous scoring system measuring workplace engagement – way ahead of second place which scored 815.3 and third place which scored 773.

Brightstar, which was founded in 2011, was an early adopter of the Women in Finance Charter and has been a trailblazer for the campaign ever since. It has also been a pioneer in championing awareness about employee wellbeing and mental health issues. In 2017 the business opened a Wellbeing Room to provide its people with a dedicated space to relax and unwind as part of its Mental Health Action Plan.

Clare Jupp, People Development Director at Brightstar Financial, said:

“This is another absolutely amazing achievement – I’m running out of adjectives and superlatives to use to describe us and what we’ve done. There are some great companies in the East of England and a lot of household names. For Brightstar to have been named at the top employer in the region, by quite some distance, is a significant accolade, possibly even bigger than topping the Sunday Times 100 Best Small Companies to Work For list.

“It’s testament to our team at Brightstar, who share an outstanding attitude, and the outstanding culture we have developed which gives people a strong sense of belonging because they feel genuinely cared for, motivated and rewarded for their contribution and achievement.”

Rob Jupp, CEO at Brightstar Financial, said:

“I continue to be astounded by the great things we are able to achieve at Brightstar. Who’d have thought eight years ago, when we started with a serviced office space and a phone, that we would build quite such a force, not just in the mortgage market, but also the East of England?

“It’s fantastic that the investment in our people has been acknowledged like this. Our people are what make Brightstar what we are – a motivated and engaged workforce who provide a positive experience for all of our partners and clients. “
